A full redesign and restoration of an Arts & Crafts garden with views reaching out to Lyme Bay and Devon.

While retaining aspects of the historic structure in the cottage garden, a paved courtyard has been added to house the apothecary garden which will be used for workshops and guests.

A continuation of hedged garden rooms was designed to add a level of intimacy to the main house garden. The design sought to craft a more intricate journey through the garden; adding a topiary walk, a species-rich meadow labyrinth and a ha-ha with sweeping curved steps leading to the existing apple and cherry orchard before reaching a newly created pond.

An overall masterplan for both new and existing planting areas was designed to marry the beautifully mature shrubs with a more contemporary herbaceous planting plan.
